Robinhood posts record revenue. Its Hyperliquid perp drops 4% in one minute
Robinhood reported third-quarter results after Tuesday's close. Revenue was a record $1.42B, according to StockTitan, but crypto revenue fell 55% from a year ago, and prediction markets (event contracts) brought in $173M, more than crypto. Investing.com said revenue was just below the $1.43B analysts expected, and the stock fell 7.4% after hours to 87.60.
One minute on Hyperliquid
Hyperliquid's xyz:HOOD perp, which tracks Robinhood stock, rose all day, from 93 to 96.72 at 16:00 UTC.
- From 20:00 to 20:04 UTC, just after the US close, it was still rising, to 95.72.
- At 20:05 UTC it fell from 95.69 to 91.89 in one minute, on $3.4M of volume.
- 89.53 by 20:08, and the day's low of 86.76 at 22:00.
- $37.3M traded on the day, 6.3 times normal, across 1,662 wallets. $1.3M of longs were liquidated; shorts, $194.
It now trades at 87.69, in line with Wall Street's after-hours price.
The short that added five minutes early
0x49e9…e1d0 was in yesterday's CoreWeave piece, one of the two wallets shorting CoreWeave.
- In the half hour before the close, it added $357K of HOOD shorts around 95.1.
- From 20:00 to 20:05 UTC, while price was still rising, it added $369K more at 95.28.
- After the drop it took $1.05M off at 91.36, then shorted $3.44M more, lower, at 88.72.
It is now short $3.59M at 3x from 89.35, up $68K.
Shorts that were in earlier made more. 0xe9ff…5903 is short $1.77M from 109.16, up $434K. 0x0242…ffa1 is short $1.73M at 10x from 98.27, up $209K. Both are short dozens of US stocks at once; Robinhood is one of many.
Liquidated, and buying
- 0x0423…55bb lost a $236K long at 89.67 at 20:07 UTC.
- 0x0d6a…ca57 held until 21:34 and lost $262K at 88.05, the day's largest.
- Some bought the low: 0x3678…b209 bought $877K at 87.68, 10x, liquidation 67.27. 0x83b0…12be bought $792K at 87.97, 3x.
Wall Street opens Wednesday. We'll see if it agrees with the price Hyperliquid found first.
