Alphabet misses, and the Google perp on Hyperliquid drops 9% in two minutes
Alphabet reported third-quarter results after Wednesday's US close. CNBC reports revenue of $127.58B against $128.22B expected, and search revenue of $63.35B against $64.96B. Free cash flow was negative. The stock fell about 9% after hours, and the AP reported it as low as $289.95.
Two minutes on Hyperliquid
The Google perp on Hyperliquid trades around the clock, and it moved the moment the numbers came out:
- At 20:01 UTC it spiked to the day's high of 327.75, then dropped to 319.64.
- At 20:02 UTC, $20.4M traded in one minute, with a low of 303.53.
- At 20:03 UTC it hit 299.21. Down 8.7% in two minutes.
- At 21:30 UTC it reached 288.03, 12% below the high. It's 293.77 now.
The Google perp traded $306M on the day, 7.9 times normal, across 4,338 wallets. $10.2M of longs were liquidated, against $650 of shorts.
The Tesla whale bet wrong
0x30af…393e is one of the best-known stock-perp traders on Hyperliquid; we've written before about it rotating between Tesla and Google.
This time it bought Google in the two days before earnings, adding longs between 318 and 326 from early Oct 27 to early Oct 28, on isolated margin.
At 20:02 UTC, under two minutes after the report, the Google long was liquidated: about $11.4M by trade value, a $590K loss.
The account survived. It's now betting on Microsoft: long $11.0M at 15x, entry 532.33, liquidation 509.75. Microsoft also reported after yesterday's close, the Microsoft perp on Hyperliquid rose from 529 to as high as 567.84, and it's up $400K.
The one betting Google would fall
0x0242…ffa1 plays a different game. It has $14.2M in stock perps and is short dozens of names at once: Intel, Meta, SanDisk, SK Hynix, SpaceX and more.
It shorted Google in two rounds:
- Before the report, from 16:25 UTC, $1.15M around 324.
- After the drop it didn't cover. From 20:06 UTC it added $7.8M more between 301 and 293.
It's now short $15.8M of Google at 10x, entry 315.24, up $1.16M.
The dip buyers
Some bought the drop. 0x4692…ef87 bought all the way from 325 to 291 and is long $2.99M at 20x, entry 302.03, liquidation 263.11, down $85K. 0xb8f3…04ea bought $2.57M around 289 at 20x, liquidation 279.75, only 4.8% below the price.
The US market opens at 13:30 UTC today. Where Google's stock opens is the test for those two 20x longs.
